I have a bluetooth handsfree that clips onto the sun guard above the dashboard and works like a speaker phone. With this you can say “Phone _____” or “Call _____” it will then ask you what phone and you say mobile, work, home, etc. Is there a way to use this with the original iPhone 3G?

Yes, and it is cool that you got this. All you have to do is upgrade your iPhone 3G software to iPhone 3Gs. You can do this at your local apple store/at&t store. Also this will cost, but it is not as much as if you were buying a iPhone 3Gs
